Blueberry apricot peach soup

I made an interesting cold soup tonight.
I combined fresh blueberries, apricots, and peaches in prosecco, and amaretto. Next I added a few splashes of Angostura bitters, almond extract, sugar, and fresh lemon juice, and chilled in the refrigerator. I think of it as a cross between a cold soup and a dessert. A possible addition might be a bit of half and half, or some fresh whipped cream. Did not measure amounts of any of the ingredients, so it's an original not likely to be replicated. Hope you enjoy!

Storyteller chardonnay

This is a wonderful oaked chardonnay from Sonoma county, California. Honestly, while I love chardonnay, I chose it partially because of the name.
I enjoyed mine as I almost always do: chilled in a white wine glass, as an aperitif.
I was thinking that it is a perfect wine for those tackling Camp Nanowrimo during July. (Write drunk, edit sober kind of thing).

A prosecco cocktail

Most of the sparkling wine cocktails that I have had have been made with champagne(usually white and extra dry), but recently I made a cocktail with an Italian prosecco named Treviso, and I enjoyed it very much. I combined a small amount of sugar, and a wedge of fresh lemon, a few dashes of Angostura bitters, a maraschino cherry, and the chilled prosecco itself in a champagne cocktail glass. Delightful!

Peach wine for summertime

Recently, I found this light and refreshing sweet peach wine at Aldi, named Pacific Fruit Vineyards, by Burlwood.
I drank mine chilled, over crushed ice.
It reminded me of the peach wine that Reunite produced years ago, that is no longer available.
I seem to remember that Aldi had another flavor of wine by Pacific Fruit Vineyards...perhaps it was raspberry, or even pineapple?
Regardless, I enjoyed this wine very much. I think it is a perfect wine for summertime.

Making homemade blackberry and blueberry wine

On September 29th, I began fermenting two very small bottles of wine: one blackberry and one blueberry. Simple ingredients: the fruit, suga...
