Beringer Main and Vine Chardonnay

This is a dry,  oaked California Chardonnay. It has flavors of green apple, stonefruit, and citrus, with oak and spice understones. I enjoyed mine chilled as an aperitif, with a sharp cheddar cheese ball and some rosemary and olive oil Triscuit.

Biltmore Estate Champagne

This sparking wine is the Blanc de Blancs Brut champagne of North Carolina vintner Biltmore Estates Winery.  I purchased the particular bottle that this post is about in October 2009, when I took my parents on a weekend getaway for their upcoming November wedding anniversary.
It has flavors of ripe apple and pear, as well as hints of lemon.
I enjoyed mine chilled, as a champagne cocktail, using Angostura bitters, a pinch of sugar, a twist of lemon peel, and a maraschino cherry.

Cupcake Vineyards Prosecco

This is a semi-dry sparkling white wine from northern Italy. Perfect for celebrating holidays, special occasions, or just to enjoy. I had mine chilled, and actually made a cocktail out of it, by adding Angostura bitters, a pinch of sugar, a sliver of fresh lemon, and a maraschino cherry.

Chateau Morrisette cherry wine

Part of the Chateau Morrisette Orchard Series produced by Virginia winery Chateau Morrisette, this slightly sweet, rich, smooth wine is just wonderful!  It is best when chilled, and delightful to enjoy on its own, but I found it perfect when paired with roast duck.

Christmas at Biltmore white wine

This is the white wine bottled especially for the Christmas holiday season by  Biltmore Estates Winery in North Carolina. It is semi-sweet,  fragrant and light.  Perfect for the holiday it was made to celebrate. I enjoyed mine chilled, as an aperitif, but I think it would be just delightful with dessert.

2016 Lindeman's Bin 65 Chardonnay

This is an oaked Chardonnay from southeastern Australia. It is a medium-bodied white wine, with flavors of green apple, ripe pear, and citrus, and hints of toasted oak and brown spice. I enjoyed mine chilled, as an aperitif, but it is also excellent with grilled seafood or roasted chicken.

Merry Christmas!

Just wanted to thank those of you who read my wine blog. I haven't posted any tasting notes in awhile, but hopefully will make up for that shortly.

Merry Christmas!
There's always time for wine!
